IN THE BLEAK MIDWINTER

Postby Stratpicker » 05 Dec 2017, 22:36

My Christmas offering for 2017. Not a Christmas 'pop' tune this time but instead a straightforward traditional Christmas Carol.

The music for In A Bleak Midwinter was written by Gustav Holst (Planet Suite etc) in 1906, based on the 1872 poem by Christina Rossetti. Originally quite simply written for Congregational singing using 5 chords (3 major, 2 minor), I have arranged Verses 2 and 3 using slightly different or embellished chords.

Wishing you a Happy Christmas and a happy, healthy, loving and musical 2018 - https://app.box.com/s/wb8aojwbb7sfwx935qk7lbvimmz812ue

Backing track created by me in Band In A Box. BTs available here if anyone is interested -

Best wishes

One of my all time favourites Ian. Loads of memories accompany such a beautiful tune.

Splendid job mate, as always.

Cheers, Alan.

A very impressive choice for your Christmas Offering played and put together in your own
inimitable style and the way that i have come to realise that are associated with you talents
and love of music.

Mine and my wife's early best wishes to you and Val for a Happy And Enjoyed festive Time.
