While my Guitar Gently Weeps.. Video

Postby Phil McGarrick » 10 Jan 2010, 18:52

This is from Hanks "Guitar Man" Album - Hope you like it.

My son Andrew made the BT for me and if anyone is interested it will be offered along with the Solo Tab on my website as a download in a few days time,(when he's made the Tabs)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1Mm5-yp38Q

Also if anyone wants to have a go at learning the solo there is a tuition video as a hidden file on my website that Andrew made so I could see how to play it.
here's the link http://www.philmcgarrick.co.uk/G.html
(You have to wait a few seconds while it up downloads and hit the play button twice)
Tested with Internet Explorer, Firefox & Google chrome but doesn't work with old versions of Internet Explorer)

Cheers Phil

Great stuff Phil. Just as I was watching that I was thinking, maybe it'd sound pretty good in distorted mode, then you stamped on the pedals :D
I like that pearloid scratchplate on your strat. I might change mine now that I see that. They are only 13.95 to purchase online. I had a sunburst strat in the mid eighties with a white scratchplate and I bought a black one for it, it really made some difference to its looks, especially with the black Seymore Duncans. I'm sure it was nearer 30quid at the time, That was out a wee shop at the Barra's in Glasgow which was a lot cheaper too than the larger stores
Just goes to show how much better the internet is for us guitarists nowadays in respect of buying new toys 8-)
Love the camerawork too that your son did ;)
Hugh.

Many thanks Hugh and Brian for your replies.

Hugh - The pearloid scratchplate is handy when you have a room full of Strats all looking the same - you can then find yours easily!
I have got a plain one that's been signed by all the Shadows but don't want to wear the signatures off, so I keep it in a picture frame.

The BT is now on my website under "Backing tracks" if anyone is interested in buying it.
The Tabs and score for the solo are free to download under the same tab. http://www.philmcgarrick.co.uk

Cheers Phil

Old Fart wrote:Nice one Phil, but you look a bit lonely sat there on your AC30! How are you m8? Have you heard from Maurice or Mike? I haven't heard a peep. It's as if once you stop being of any use to people they just don't bother anymore. I am confined to just playing at home now as my illnesses severely restrict what I can do. Had another heart scare a little while before Xmas which was a bit alarming, but I am still plodding on. If you are ever over Malvern/Worcester way pop in for a cuppa and a chat. Hope Andy is ok and you are both enjoying your music.

Cheers
Jim

Hi Jim,
I'm doing fine thanks. Sorry to hear about your heart scare, hope you are OK now. Our old bass player Mike continually has problems with his email and he has recently moved house and now has a new phone number which I'll send you. Bit quiet from M since we sold the PA.
Glad to see your postings including the vocals - Miss you nights brings back good memories of the band days.!
Andy's fine - now married to Lisa and they are having fun making music and video's together. should be a new one on the way soon.
I'll pop over and see you sometime soon.
Cheers Phil
