Bruce Welch, to be selecting his favourite tunes on Radio 2's Ken Bruce show next week (11:30 thru 12:00).

Surprising choice of tracks. No Buddy Holly so far!

So.....what were the tracks - or does one have to listen to 15 hrs of Ken Bruce as well?

I know Bruce W was fond of the Everly Bros.

Please, if anyone has heard the broadcast and can remember the tracks, I would be gratefull if they could list them.

Kindest regards,
Christopher

I hear that you can download a one hour mp3 of all Bruce's segments, all in the right order, at:

Just don't tell the BBC.

The songs Bruce chose were (from memory)...

Wake Up Little Suzie - Everly Brothers
Are We Human? - Killers
Diana - Paul Anka
This Kiss - Faith Hill
New Kid in Town - Eagles
Jessie - Joshua Kadison
Uptown Girl - Billy Joel
Peggy Sue - Buddy Holly
You're The First, The Last, My Everything - Barry White
The Prayer - Celine Dion

Minor point...Bruce said that he liked the Billy Joel song because it reminded him of "doo-wop". I would have thought that The Longest Time was a more doo-wopesque Billy Joel song; Uptown Girl was more in the Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons mould, I would have thought.

But it was great to hear Bruce talking again, and to hear his choice in music!
