As CC points out, we are all "guilty" of using original "Hankless" Shadows recordings as backing tracks. There is nothing wrong with that as long as it is not for commercial purposes. So, let's not waste any more time on something that has been discussed and resolved in these forums for the past 10 years and let's concentrate on what this thread is about, and that is Paulo's
flawless playing of The Savage.
In my opinion Paulo plays the Savage 100% correctly in terms of fingering and positioning, concentrating the entire middle part on one narrow segment of the neck, which is the most efficient and economic way to play. Not only does Paulo do the the middle part correctly, even though the word "correctly" is relative, but he is the only one I've seen who plays the 0:40 - 0:50 part where I believe it should be played, particularly the 0:46 part, hitting the E note on the 3rd string at the 9th fret plus the open B string, as "Onk" does in the original, which is possible only in that position. Bravo Paulo!!!
