Finally on YouTube -- Foot Tapper

Postby Bojan » 26 Jan 2010, 19:55

Hi, I have finally mastered the fine art of making/editing videos and putting them on YouTube. Before I start making my own videos, I would like to share with you some older ones I have of myself and my old group Samonikli, which means "grass roots" or "growing wild" or "indigenous" . . . anyway, we played in the mid sixties and we get together now every once in a while and play a concert or two for our friends. This footage is from one of our practice sessions before a concert we had in 2006. I play rhythm. It is interesting how the sound changes as the camera guy keeps moving and turning his camcorder.

The setting is very nice too, in our bass player's basement!

I hope you like it. Please comment freely.

Nice job....hay, you look just like your avatar!
:)
Can you tell me what brand/model camera you used to record this, then what (if anything) you used to upload to U toob?

TIA,
Walt

Thanks Walt :) . . . I didn't shoot the footage (I was playing at the time), nor was it my camcorder, so, unfortunately, I don't know the answer to your first question. I think it was a regular camcorder like a Sony or something like that, nothing special.

I used Microsoft Movie Maker to create and edit the video (because it was part of a longer footage). But initially I could not load the video from my DVD into Movie Maker because it did not recognize the file format, so I used AVS Video Editor4, which I downloaded from the Internet. I could have used that particular program because it offers better possibilities, but I am used to MovieMaker and it seemed simpler to work with, so anyway, I used the AVS Video Editor4 to save the file in avi format and then used the MovieMaker for the details.

As for uploading to YouTube, all you have to do is sign in, and upload the video. The instructions are very clear and its a cinch.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Bojan

I appreciate the info. I know how to upload to u toob, but my main question centers on the various video formats.

I think I'm going to have to purchase a couple diffrent cams and see how they deal with file formats and what editing is required.

I think playing guitar is easier than all this tech stuff. I'll be waiting for more of your videos. :)

Thanks Jimbo! Rhythm guitar for me is like drums for you, right? :)
