Please don't make assumptions. Anonymous moderating is absolutely NOT allowed on this site and there may be other technical reasons why a post disappears.

I'll look into it and report back.

Any and all modifications to posts, whether by the original poster or a moderator, are recorded in a site log file. I am the only person who is able to edit that log file so I can absolutely declare that it is correct and accurate.

There is no entry in the log regarding a post which could possibly be the one you are describing. It must, therefore, either have been a posting error or a technical problem with the board software (there are no entries in the error log) and that is why the post appears to have disappeared. It was certainly not deleted by anyone.

I am currently backing up the entire site and once I have done so will try to find the post and restore it if possible.

This is strange because the other day one of my post's disappeared mysteriously on the MEAZZI EMULATION thread, I jokingly told Justin Daish that I would send him a shovel to help bury his head in the sand, as he wouldn't admit to hearing the SOUND on the pre Meazzi Hank recordings. The rest of the stuff in the discussion is there, but this particular post went AWOL, I'm not bothered about it but it would be nice for someone to politely point it out if it was thought to be out of order- - I asked David Martin and Derek but they know nothing about it, any ideas?

The only mod to that thread was when you deleted your own post (March 15th 12:37pm).

It occurs to me that it is quite easy to click on save or preview instead of submit after writing a post. When you look at the screen it appears that the post is there however once you navigate away the post is lost because it was never submitted. This may be what has happened on these two occasions. I'll look into making it less easy to do this.

Firstly I did read Robbos posting so I know it was on the thread he mentions,It was not me who removed it, I have never removed any posting on here, and have only changed wording on two post's one because of a sexual content the other was very personal content about Hank.

As for Jims posting I asked him to put it up for us to view. so do you think I would ask him then get rid of it.

I don't belive in deleting post's , I like them left warts and all so to speak........

I have changed the layout of the posting buttons in response to this thread since it is the only explanation I can come up with.

I don't believe any moderator has ever done anything anonymously, as per site policy, and the moderator logs bare this out. Disappearing posts are either user error or a problem with the board software. There are no known bugs in the software which would account for this.

Of the two cases highlighted in this thread, there is no trace of Jim's post anywhere and there is an entry in the log for Dave's deletion of his post, whether or not it's the one in question I can't say. In Jim's case, there would have been at least a record of the post having been submitted, whatever happened to it afterwards; Hopefully my mod to the board software will help to reduce the chances of this happening again.

Me definitely not guilty of moderating or deleting any postings.....in fact I dont think I've even seen the 2 referred to here...........
