Sylvia Video. Ian McCutcheon's BT

My take on Hank Marvin's version of the Focus's classic Sylvia. The BT came from Ian McCutcheon's Shadows workout 12. I used the PRS instead of the Strat as it has 10 guage strings - good for bending.
Straight into Alesis Quadraverb Q2 programmed with EFTP Patch 0-34.
Into M-Audio Delta 1010 sound card - Cubase SX5.

Couldn't make my mine up whether to use overdrive like Ian McCutcheon's version, or keep it clean like Hanks.
So I kept it clean.

Great Videofile here Phil, loved it all the way. Btw it was originally done by Focus, a Dutch group, but Hank did also a great job with it.

Very nice rendition. I didn't even realise Hank had done this – I've always done the original Jan Akkerman (Focus) version with overdrive but your clean version sounds very good. Now I have a good excuse to play it at our next West Of Wales club meet!

Hank first played this on his "Into the Light" album, and later "The best of Hank Marvin" album.

He also played it on his solo concerts, and has always been a favourite of mine.
