Autumn Leaves Video from Lisa

Postby Phil McGarrick » 12 Apr 2010, 20:25

This is an Eva Cassidy number that my daughter in law Lisa has recently recorded.
Andrew my son playes the Rameriz 1a nylon string guitar and the piano.
The "Autumn" tree picture were my only input and photographed at the Westonbirt Abrouretum in the cotswolds. (near where Prince Charles lives)

Quite a slow "Sad" song but close (in my opinion) to Eva's . Happy one coming up soon :D

Hope you like it .. Cheers Phil

Thanks Lynn,
Glad you like Eva songs and Lisa's version.
Pity Eva didn't get "discovered" until after she died. But her music will go on forever.
Thanks for your comment.

Cheers Phil

Hi Phil,

Another wonderful effort from Lisa. I particularly liked this piece. You may remember that I recorded more of an uptempo version myself a little while ago. Lisa does a much better job of it than I did. I really liked the slow Duke Ellington version that was done a long time ago that I still have on vinyl. I haven't heard the Eva Cassidy version (though I think it is on YouTube) but Lisa's rendition is just beautiful. She is certainly a very talented singer. I like the guitar playing and piano backing from your son as well. The video production was good too with your contribution. It was a wonderful all-round effort from you and your most talented family. I enjoyed listening and watching (several times). Thanks for posting it.

Cheers,
Len

Aaah! Just what I need after 4 days away and intensive computer software training - some decent music and superb singing and playing!!!
Absolutely beautiful done and some super video shots too. Lisa's singing is awesome as always and I loved the guitar work too.
Totally professional work throughout.
Wonderful
cheers
Ian
ps- I realised this weeek why we are rearing a generation of young morons and idiots - have you heard Radio 1 lately?! I had to suffer 4 days of it as background feed at the place I was working. Another day and I'd have lost the will to live - as they have!! End of Rant!! Aaaaw!

Thank you Tony for your comments - yes Andy uses a Roland Fantom X keyboard. nice piece of kit.

Many thanks Ian also - I know what you mean about intensive computer training - does your head in ! made even worse by being forced fed radio 1.

Lisa says a big thanks to all who have listened and thank you all for your kind comments.

Cheers Phil

Beautiful, just beautiful. What more can I say?

Brian

PS. Ian, If you think Radio 1 is chronic, think yourself lucky you don't live down here. I have to endure Capital radio all day long. They play "all the hits" all day long. The same moronic rubbish repeated on every show but in a different order.(sob) By the time I get to go home my brain is numb.
