I have gone from 10's to 11's now 12's and the tone gets better each time and I aint' gonna go back the other way. By the way Tony Iommi not only used thin gauges but tuned his guitar laow to around C# I believe and SRV used to use thick srings up to 16's I heard and he was quoted as saying tune low and floor it ! typically he tuned to Eb I understand. I think pure nickel 12's are where its at for the Shads stuff :)
