Hi Ian,

I've downloaded you twice, having done so earlier on Charlie's site not quite realising that you are the same person. I thought maybe - maybe not. Now I know.

I have always liked that Shadows number. I have never seen the film though. You played it well I thought with the muted notes sounding loud and clear. The new guitar sounds good too. Congratulations on an excellent sound file and upon your new acquisition. I would like to own a Strat one day. I keep mentioning it to me wife but she knows how much they cost. :(

Well done with a most enjoyable post. :) :) :)

Regards,
Len

Hi Len

Sorry about the mix-up on my names. The one here was inherited from the original website when I rejoined the new site after the change over so I just left it. Have you considered getting yourself one of the Japanese made strats. They can be had at a very reasonable price at the moment and are well made. I just sold mine to fund the purchase of this one, so didn't have to find a lot more cash.

By the way I've replied to you on Charlie's site and thank you for your support here.

Regards
Ian

Hi Roger

Thank you so much for such a nice comment. I think HBM is the master of the strat and for me his superb tone is his signature. I do not intentionally try to copy him as some of my other shadows tunes will show and I do try to put over some of myself. You can find a few of my videos on YouTube under macnik which will show you some variations. If you listen try My Resistance is Low, which I've never played before in all the years it's been around I've brought in some harmony in the middle section.
Thanks again for your compliment, it really appreciated.

Cheers
Ian

Thanks Roger for listening.
I've visited your website following the link you left me and listened to some of the sound bites. I thought they were brilliant especially Lover's guitar. And what a terrific sound.
Thank you for that.
All the best

Great sounds with the new guitar, Ian. Well worth the investment then. I loved 'Shane'; you played it really well.

Tony.

Tony, thanks for the encouragement and listening to Shane. I'm really loving this guitar and it would be cheap at twice the price, but then I wouldn't be able to afford it LOL. Seriously though if all the AVRIs were like this then for me everything else is cosmetic. I have one of the early reissues a 1983 and nice though it is, this is so much better for tone.
