This is exactly what has happened several times before, interest expressed, but nobody willing to commit. The organisational aspect is probably what frightens people, you need a suitable location, a reasonable backline, a supply of BT's etc etc, so unless one or two commit to setting things up, it won't happem I'm afraid.

We need a venue first (free or cheap), preferably with car parking *and* access by public transport, with a private room where we can set up. I am sure BTs would not be a problem. We have people happy to play drums, bass and rhythm for all the budding Hanks.

Alan and George both make very valid points - I was one of the ones who tried a few years ago but unfortunately I failed miserably as I was unable to get past the point of finding a suitable location despite enquiring at every hall, hotel, pub etc. that I could find.
However it looks as though Ian (McShadow) and Gary (Gary Mac) might be having a bit more success so, to quote the philosopher Auguste Thinquetanque "Let 'im 'oo gets the vision be 'im 'oo does the job" and at last this looks like we may be getting close to a case of "Watch this space!!" which would be great, guys, so if there's anything I can do to help just drop me a PM.

My feeling is that any venue has to be accessible for as many people as possible, which suggests to be somewhere along the Glasgow-Edinburgh axis. However, I'm willing to be persuaded otherwise. Ayrshire is a big place: can you be more specific, Gary?
