Who Wrote And Recorded This Guitar Instrumental?

Postby sausage fingers » 18 Sep 2010, 14:09

Not really Shadows......sorry its acoustic....
i only seem to record a song when i have a new toy to play with, i've just started using Presonus Studio One software and thought i would give it a try out here...its all different gear than i've used in the past and different house and room so not exactly sure of the monitoring system yet, but just for a trial and a bit fun to see if anyone could name the guitarist who wrote and recorded this song a few years back.......probably someone will get it straight away, to get all the gold stars we need the title of the song as well!
Disclaimer....the song is not a carbon copy of the original down to every detail and order.
Another party piece..

Woburn Abbey, from the LP "The Romantic Guitar Of Bert Weedon" (Fontana 1971).

A good LP with most tunes very suitable for guitar, including a version of The Callan Theme.

Full track listing:

1. By The Time I Get To Phoenix
2. High Noon
3. Maria Elena
4. Hava Nagila
5. Song Without Words
6. Woburn Abbey

1. A Man And A Woman
2. Greensleeves
3. Callan Theme
4. Baubles, Bangles And Beads
5. Belly Dancer
6. Tenderly

The Woburn Abbey title (one of Bert's own compositions) engendered the sleeve photography, with a sprightly 40-something Bert walking around the Abbey itself with cherry red Guild "Bert Weedon Model" in hand. Another Weedon piece was Belly Dancer, arranged around a very Middle-East sounding modal scale.

Nice rendition, by the way. Excellent, in fact.

What guitar was it?
