Foot Tapper - That Sound Finally !

Postby roger bayliss » 20 Oct 2010, 14:58

After many attendancies at the Hankies club and visiting this site and others I have finally got to grips with what the elements of 'That Sound' are and now it gives me great pleasure to share my findings with you all. ;)

I used a 57 Vintage Strat with 57/62 pickups through a Magic Stomp into my Vox AC30 top Boost channel and everything else is down to some serious studio work on my part which I picked up from studying what Malcolm Addey had done back at Abbey Road. Let me say this was a long road for me and it's taken me about 6 years to get to this point but it was truely worth the time and effort and the wait . :ugeek: :geek: :ugeek:

I am sorry if I take some of Hank's shine away by issuing this recording because it just might !

I would also like to thank my fellow Hankies for teaching me all that I know and boy did that make the real difference

So here it is the real deal (excuse the slight tuning problem I have on my wound G string.

TURN it UP !

PS I took out special insurance in case anyone dies after hearing this one ! :silent:   :o :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

Well done Roger, you have really nailed it,- I don't want to be too pass remarkable but the tuning problem on the G string sort of ruined it a bit for me.
Any chance you could record it again with a Meazzi and AC15 for comparison?

Brilliant rendition Roger

Just a small amount of wow and flutter detected from your authentic reel to reel
otherwise perfect.
