Not everyone reads all the posts which are divided into forums to help members find the threads they are interested in.

So if someone posts a message in a forum that is less popular it may sit there for some time before anyone picks up on it while a similar message posted in a more popular forum may be picked on quite quickly.

It may be that is what happened in this case where this is, in fact, the wrong forum to ask about backing tracks. Site statistics tell me that this is a far more popular forum than the backing track one. A topic heading which is out of place is far more likely to be read than one which is in the right place.

Perhaps I and the moderators should make a point of reading all posts and checking to make sure that they do not violate site rules either directly or by implication. But even if we did it is easy enough to miss a post which could be thought of as in violation by some, if not others.

I have just read this thread now, and of course I have to respond to it.

First of all, and most importantly, I would NEVER, EVER say anything to insult or in any way disparage Goran Tangring and his work and I resent deeply any implications to the contrary . . . I consider Goran a wonderful human being and a good friend, and I have always given him credit for doing a wonderful and very generous service to the Shadows community. I have all his BTs and I play to them at home almost every day and I derive great pleasure from that.

Second, I was not aware that I was part of an "inner circle" . . . in fact, I wasn't aware that such an "inner circle" even existed here. I have never been to any Shadowmania or other Shadows events, I have never attended a Shadows concert, I do not know any Shadows members personally, and moreover, I do not even know any of the people from this forum personally (even though I consider many of them as my friends). And I DEFINITELY DID NOT create "the community site" (!!???). So, I do not understand how anyone can claim that I am part of an "inner circle" . . . Frankly, the whole notion sounds rather paranoid to me, especially when it is repeated several times!

Yes, I did ask for a backing track for Giant. I do not see what is wrong with that. In fact, there is a section in our forum called "Backing Tracks" for "discussing where tracks can be found or for exchanging your own" . . . However, I NEVER asked for a UB Hank BT for Giant specifically. Being a relatively new member, Mr. Peischl obviously does not know that there are lots of people here who make their own backing tracks non-commercially and are willing to share them, much like Goran is doing. I have many such backing tracks and I have always sent backing tracks that I myself have made to people who asked for them. I really do not think I should be criticized or punished for doing that.

Mr. Peischl, you have obviously jumped to conclusions when making unfounded accusations against me, which I resent very much . . . I also resent the tone in which you speak about me in a public forum.

I accept that the work of producers of BTs is worth all the money and should be payed.

What makes me a very angry is that you all put down Richie Cockburn (fiesta man ) - but if you have a look at "Backing Tracks" and the request from Bojan for a BT for "Giant" nobody seems to care about. (and referring to Göran Tangring- who does not have it on his list it does not look like Bojan was asking where he can buy the BT !!!). I`m sure he knows Leos Den , Pastmasters and all the others-.

Is it because Bojan belongs to the "inner circle" of the community that none of you comments on his request like you do on Richies ? It´s a shame how you treat him. May be he was not lucky with his "tutorials" but the way you treat him is not fair. If you don`t like him you have the option to ignore him and not to put him down the way you do. When I look at the number and content of comments to his tutorials I`m thinking of leaving the community.

Regards Ernst

thanks Ernst
well i cant believe how people can treat people and to think i helped so many out with original shadows tracks with out hanks lead
something ill never do again now. as they saying goes you know who your real friends are.

Ernst, can you please clarify who in your opinion is 'putting down' The Fiesta Man' - and who in your opinion belongs to this 'inner circle', whatever that is as I certainly don't wish to be tarred with that particular brush. The only 'inner circle' that I belong to is ME. I tell it like it is to whoever I think should be told and I did tell Bojan where to buy the track in question. As one who makes - or used to make instro BT's, I have more than an axe to grind on the subject of folks giving away my work, but it can't be policed and if folks want to give them away they will do, that's why there will be no more from me. I believe that Warren may be in a similar frame of mind also, after the hard work he put into the 'Into The Spotlight' project and the disappointing sales, although everybody seems to have that CD there wasn't many sales reported in my direction. As for The Fiesta Man, I declined to comment on his posts as they held no interest for me, which is the way to do it if you have nothing nice to say. Now he's wanting out because he's had a bit of criticism. :|
I can't believe what you guys find to whinge about, to be honest I despair at the crap that appears here these days and don't look forward to logging in anymore.

Have a nice day. 8-)

Well that's three of us in agreement, so far. Er... hope this isn't the beginning of an INNER CIRCLE!

No offence Dave but are you serious??? you mentioned something about if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing. I can only assume you havent read these posts. Right or wrong, good or bad, Richies posts have been systematically trashed!!
