CHILDREN IN NEED in Shrewsbury

This year I have organised a musical Children in Need event in Shrewsbury, in association with The Shrewsbury International Cartoon Festival (which takes place every year in April). Myself and a few fellow cartoonists and associates will be providing a mix of music including some blues and folk but, mainly, Shads and similar instrumental guitar numbers. If you happen to be in or near Shrewsbury this Friday, 19th November, please come and support us. We are in the Darwin Centre (the blue carpeted area on the lower floor, near to T K Maxx and the exit to the car park), from around 9.30am until approx 4.00pm.

If we do a Children In Need gig next November, maybe we could also organise an indoor venue for a change!

Yes, I'll miss you this year, Ken, especially, I suspect, about four hours into the gig! It's looking, weather-wise, as if choosing an indoor location this year was wise decision – next year we'll definitely try for the same in Aber.

I'm doing a stint in our local ASDA this Friday afternoon. Not as presitigious as your event, Noel, but at least it's indoors!!

Excellent, Jim - I'm surprised more of us aren't doing it - it doesn't need to be a huge event, just something to raise a few quid for a desperately deserving cause.

We had a great day, yesterday – Shadows music was alive and well in Shrewsbury, helping to raise a grand total of £570 for Children in Need.

Our local ASDA raised nearly £1500 with their live music all day.

I played for about 30 minutes in the afternoon and was told one lady put £40 in the bucket because she liked my type of music!!
