I remember reading about this in a guitar mag years ago, along with some photos and ( I think) maybe a quick test [drive. ;-) ]

But the burning questions are:

How many miles to the gallon and does it need an MOT ?

Personally I think hes laughing a laff...but somebody somewhere might be prepared to pay over the odds for such an instrument.

For those who don't want to bother searching eBay for the item number, the guitar is a Fender "Jaguar" Stratocaster, commissioned (in a limited edition of - apparently - 25, by Jaguar Cars (owned by Ford).

It should not be confused with the Fender Jaguar (a different guitar), though why Jaguar didn't commission a set of er... Fender Jaguars... is a mystery.

Someone (can't remember who) had one at the Shadowmania Friday a few years ago.

Thats a new one on me. Definately not on the memory banks.
The price is a bit of a wind up methinks. But as you say, there's always someone somewhere with the spare cash to go purchase it
I'll stick with my cheap Squier copies meself philistine that I am

I'm pretty certain that Paul Rodgers is playing one on the Strat Pack concert from 2004.

Yeah, I remenber it being reviewed in 'Guitarist' a few years back. Very nice with all it's fancy appointments, but completely over the top. The sort of thing an Investment Banker might keep in his vault.

He has, at the last "Shadtech" meeting, Alain brought some guitars of his collection. Here he is showing us his "Jaguar" Strat :

Of course, he also has the matching white Connolly leather gig bag.

Next to him is Patrice Bastien.

Hi all.
I remember the friday night Shadowmania one that Jim mentions. The gentleman who brought it along was very reluctant to let anyone have a good look at it. I think £12,000. was the price when they were released.
The Pink Floyd drummer had twelve Ferrari ones done about the same time. These were to give to his friends and not for sale.
Regards Geoff.
