Boss Micro BR digital recorder

Hi All, not sure if this is the right section. Can anyone point me in the right direction,have just bought the above, i would like to record my lead playing using a Hank B/T, what is the best/easiest way, i am using a Sony vgn-nr11s/s vista laptop/ magistomp/peavey/ classic 30, any help would be invaluable ,connection leads,not or using amp etc . thanks Keith

Which recorder do you have Keith ? Amongst my toys I have a BR-600 which I used for those recent Blackstar HT1 demos and could help you if yours is the same.

It all depends what you are loking for. If you want a multitrack recorder have a look at the Zoom R16, I have a friend who has one ans is quite satisfied with it.
If you want a simpler two tracks recorder, look at the Zoom H2. I have one wich I use to records gigs with external mics, and it works fine.

Didier, I would urge you to read and fully understand the question before launching into one of your sermons.
Keith has already bought a micro BR - I was asking which one, just in case it was the same as mine, that being the case I could have helped.

Hi Keith,
I've used a Micro Br and I found there are a number of ways to do this, bearing in mind that you will have to get your head round either way by using the manual step by step;
From memory and maybe easiest;
1) Just record it Real Time from your source via a small Jack lead into tracks 1 and 2.
You will find the Micro Br very fiddly, sometimes frustrating, especially when you post edit when mixing the recording. I used to use mine for the MP3 facility more than anything.
If you bought it new from your local shop I suggest you might return it in preference for its slightly bigger brother the Br 600 you would'nt be dissapointed and you would be getting a massive jump for the extra nominal price.

Hi Dave and Tony ,the model is a micro BR 4 track (size of a blackberry mobile) i've just sent off for a usb to usb lead, can i record a b/t into it and then play a lead melody over the top? cheers Keith it says on the box the worlds smallest pro studio

Hi Keith,
I'm assuming you want to make a recording using it as a portable studio? Normally you record your BT on tracks 1 and 2 (stereo) and your lead guitar on track 3 or 4, or both. Then you have to adjust the levels to make it sound right. To answer your question no, you cant play lead "over the top", you treat it track by track then mix it as a normal recording but like I said it's very fiddly. Although you can get a reasonable sound I think it was marketed for the spontaneous song writer and an on the move musician.
