Signature Area Of Posts

I think it's about time the signature area at the bottom of members post were kept for just that, I find when reading a thread scrolling down through all this junk is really off putting.....................What do you think ?........... :D

This place is starting to fall in to the realms of a comic. and I'm sure It's causing people to avoid a visit here..............!

I'd hate for any rule to be too restrictive or prescriptive, Derek - but I certainly know what you mean. There are plenty of examples (recently) of one-liners being followed up by about twenty lines of signature file.

Frequently, they're funny the first time you read them, but usually, they lose their novelty quickly. That's one of the reasons why I have never used a signature file anywhere (unless forced to by automated process).

I agree, it should be kept to a signature. Some are a mess and about as funny as woodworm in a crutch.

By whose standards shall the signatures be signed ?
Their own or yours ?

As a signature generally refers to the persons real name, & no more, then that is the commonly accepted standard surely. There is no 'theirs or yours' about it.

Why not just poliely ask the "offenders" to limit their signature to - say - two lines? ;)
