Tolo - 'Home'

Postby tolo » 13 Dec 2010, 18:29

Hello everybody - hoping all is well...

Have just finished upgrading my studio and this is the first composition with the new rig... This is another original instrumental which for me was inspired by the North East, the land and it's people - and no matter where I am it is always 'home' to me...

I hope you like it.

Best to all,

Tony.

A really great dramatic sound file Tony. It reminded me of Pink Floyd at the start and then the song built and built -
and by the end the main theme was in my head. It's one of those compositions that grows on you - so glad I saved it as 4Shared was downloading very slowly tonight.
Excellent in every way - you should be well chuffed
Cheers Phil

Excellent production there Tony. Sounds like a soundtrack piece.

What DAW are you using? Were there any hardware used? (apart from the guitar)

Thanks for sharing your excellent work. I enjoyed it so much :)

Robby

Hi Tony
I'm a sucker for Music that takes you on a Journey!!
Utterly fabulous!! To much to describe other than to say its one of the best SFs ever to come on here.
Maybe its the Geordie thing? Being married to one for 44 years, I'm a sort of 'naturalised' Geordie and to cap it all we spent last weekend in Whitley Bay family visiting including her 99 year old Mam so this tune is doubly moving for us.
Awesome, Tony!!

Gratified by your mind words guys - thanks for taking time to write...

Ian - I think 44 years counts you 'in' as one of us!! Regards to you...

Robby - the computer is Win 7 X64 bit, 12G DDR3 1600 RAM, i7 960 3.2Ghz - running through an MBox 3 Pro with Protools 9. No amps used on this at all - all used guitars straight into my own patches for Amplitube 3. Strings, pianos etc all played on a midi keyboard - and there is even a vocal cameo by yours truly in the middle. Rode NTa1 Condenser Mic. Technology is wonderful these days - quality music production is available to everyone - but it all has to be wrapped around a melody and an arrangement...

Phil - Hank aside, Gilmour is my favourite player.....so your tribute is very well accepted!! I think HBM and DG have a lot in common as artists of melody and touch.... I enjoy your work also...!!

Bojan - hope it was a good the second time around!!!?

Thanks again guys - keep well

Tony.
