Very nicely played, Brian. As you said in the other topic, the camera has compressed the sound a little, but a very good hot-off-the-press recording!

Many thanks for your comment, Noel. It would be good to compare notes some time. I am very pleased with the quality of this guitar, the attention to detail, finish, etc. are all first class. I have owned several "Marvins" and this is certainly the best yet. I am particularly pleased with the feel of the trem which feels much better balanced that those I had on some other recent Marvins. I have noticed, however, that the pick-ups are not as strong as those on my Fender '56 Strat. I don't know if this is down to Burns trying to maintain the originality of tone in the modern noiseless design. To me it is particularly noticeable when playing the top E string when the selector is set to middle and neck, for example when playing the intro of "Flyder & the Spy". That is the only criticism I have of the guitar. :)

Interesting. When I compared my CShop Masterbuil'56 Strat, the Dream, and my Apache, using headphones, last night, there did seem to be a noticeable difference in the output from the pickjups between the Dream and the other two. However, this morning, through the amp, the difference was negligible!

Hi everybody!

I've compared my Burns Dream (beautiful trans blue!) with the Marvin 2004 and yes the Dream is slightly lower in output, but nevertheless the sound is very good.
