dave i agree with eveything you said in the reply except you are struggling that people thought it was anything to do with charlie hall. if i were trying to develope a unit with shadows type sound, you would be one of the first people i would ask to try it. your background in this field is second to none and you have done tests before on trail units for others. i would mean it as a compliment to you in a positive way not negitive. my oridginal remarks could also have been a bit tonge in cheek ;) i really cant see the link
with you not having the intelligence to come up with these results on your own and charlies unit. you are both people i hold in high reguard when it comes to the sound and helping people out with advice as you have done with myself on at least a couple of times in the past. peter

No problem Peter I wasn't having a go at you or Stuart, it's kind of you to say those things and I'm happy if I have assisted you in any way in the past. I was trying to say that there are many others who can listen and copy apart from Charlie. 8-)

I also forgot to mention that I was keen to hear the Pinnacle amplifier with the right echo and it seems that it did the business. 8-)

There is still a long way to go and it is certainly capable of achieving perfection as there is are so many parameters to tweak.
I actually recorded the tracks in LOGIC on the Mac and the same echo facility is in their to be added to your recorded tracks, although in MAIN STAGE you use the Mac as an FX machine just like the Tonelab , Zoom G7 and the like.

Some people have also obtained extremly interesting results, using VST softwares on PC.

Hi Dave

2 ex sound files which prove (to me) that the answer to this elusive "echo" sound is indeed available in the digital domain :) .
The Apple is I suppose the ultimate effects machine amongst the other things it does really well & I have been seriously considering an Apple Mac Book recently & your 2 files just confirm the quality of the software that is available for these machines.

Well done Dave & thanks for sharing it with us.

So.......is the Pinnacle really "The" amp ?

Cheers

Sounds jolly authentic to me.

I think HBM would be pretty pleased to have come up with that, were he to redo it, yet again.

Didier, I am aware of PC software and have indeed owned and used much of it since 1996- however I assure you that I have yet to hear anything that comes close to Apple Mac and Logic. Had it been out there I'm sure someone would have demonstrated it by now.

Dick, 'Is the Pinnacle THE amp' ? No, it is one of - there are several other candidates that deliver the same sound. Vox Heritage, JMI EF86 based amps, Matchless EF86 based amps, Rod Jenks's JC30 of which I currently own two and of course Roger Alcock's Vintage Unit attached to any suitable valve amp.

Thank's Ian, I appreciate you took your time to listen. :)
