Harold, that email address will be for his office at home and he won't be too pleased if he gets loads of emails from fans, especially with Hank semi-retired and The Shadows no longer a working outfit.
Beware, because he doesn't pull any punches and in all honesty is not really a fan-friendly sort of person.
I used to publish Shadsfax and it had a healthy subscription base of around 500 but I got tired of getting no support or info so I decided to stop publishing it.

Let's not pussyfoot around here and kid ourselves, fans really only serve a purpose these days to line the pockets that matter and in stark reality nobody really cares what we want released. How long have people been asking for Change of Address to be reissued on CD? That fell on deaf ears!!
The Shads own the copyright to that album so where's the problem? Instead we get Hank Plays ??? out again, and who would of asked for those to come out so soon? Fans? I don't think so.
My guess is it is because there's more money to be made split between two people then between five, if you get my drift.
Make your own mind up - there was no new Shadows album to coincide with the final tour but a Hank Marvin solo album soon after, and it was rumoured that Universal were keen to put out a Shadows album following on from the success of the 2004 tour. It's not rocket science, is it?

It's like everything, as soon as money is involved it takes over and decisions are made on that basis.

Ivor, yes the masters of completed tracks will be safe, it is the session tapes that are missing which have all the 'takes' on except for the 'master' which was usually cut out to make the final master.

In 1992 I sent my 20 Golden Greats vinyl album sleeve to Outrider Management office in London Notting Hill and asked if the Shadows would sign it and it took a years worth of phone calls to get it back. In the end I had to go and get it and when I got there Jimmy Page was there. I was really suprised and went to HMV and bought Led Zepelin 4 and took it back to Outrider Management and he signed it for me. A fantastic surprise.

Tony is absolutely right. There comes a time when enough is enough and literally years of banging your head against the proverbial brick wall finally batters you into submission. There is absolutely no point whatsoever in emailing Brian Goode. None. Take Tony's advice and be warned if you do.

Wasn't Brian Goode trained up by Peter Gormley? ;)

Brian Goode also looked after the business interests of Jimmy Page which is probably why he was at the office.

Yes, Peter Gormley handed over the manager's role to BG.
Apparently Peter was a nice bloke, as was Norrie, and you never hear a bad word said about them.
I could tell you stories that would make your head spin but this isn't the place for it.
As I say, I lost interest in helping promote Hank and The Shadows ages ago, it's a one way street with nothing coming back.

I think Shadowmania pretty much sums it up for me . . .
Bruce puts it on so is keen, Jet & Tony went whilst they were alive, Licorice loves it and is always around to talk to, Brian Bennett seems to only go when Warren asks him to play, and Hank has never been although he'll happily fly over and attend the French Django festival in May. Hmm.

Mention of Norrie makes me wonder if he ever had any influence on whether session tapes, with alternate takes, etc. were kept, wiped or recorded over at subsequent sessions. With no knowledge of studio procedures, it would be fascinating to know what decisions were made and how they were reached at that time.

Maybe some sort of management / financial / legal problem emerges, when Hank, Bruce and Brian appear together, without a big tour or concert promoter behind them.

They're no longer signed to a record label so there will be no such problem.

No, there must be more to it than that. I think they just can't be bothered.
We've had one new Shadows track in 21 years!!! Life Story, and that wasn't even performed live in the concerts that followed its release, only played through the PA system.
All three members have (had) access to studios, all are capable and they don't even have to be in the same room anymore. 21 years lost with just a handful of Hank Marvin solo albums to cover the void.
Luckily we have a legacy of music dating from 1960 to 1990 to enjoy but why stop there?
The Ventures, Spotnicks and Duane Eddy all had new albums last year, but nothing from the Shadows.
Such a pity.

Hoffers,

Don't you mean the music legacy from 1960 to 1979!
