Theme for something really important

I tried out this one today as I love watching Jet's videos and recently purchased the backing track from Tony Clout.

Excellent Rosemary, Great tone and playing, One small thing be more deliberate and slower with the sliding from note to note, keeping the finger pressed against string and frets, trem technique is coming on great

I've noticed my slides are a bit messy too so thanks for that tip. There are also a few timing errors and possibly some different notes in a phrase or two when I just listened to one of Jet's versions a moment ago. It's good to hear you like the tone as I was really happy with it. That was using Charlie Hall's EFTP 'Atlantis' patch and by chance I thought the backing track was about the right level through the computer speakers. Anyway I'll keep working on it (and the others)

I checked last night and found a phrase and a few notes that are wrong so am working on fixing them for next time along with the timing. It's a great backing track and I really enjoy playing it.

Well done Rosemary. Your sound has improved greatly and the playing too.
Dont put yourself down too much. At least you are noticing any mistakes or unwanted sounds.I know some guitarists that have played their whole lives making mistakes and 'not' noticing
If you find fault in your playing, it shows you are getting better and will improve it with practice.
I think I speak for the most of us in here. You never ever really get totally happy with what you play

Hi Rosemary,

Nice tune and your Strat sound is more than satisfactory in my honest opinion...I sure like it!
As I said before..keep on practicing and especially ENJOY what you are doing.
If guitar playing keeps on inspiring and urging you to do more,then you are on the right track Rosemary.
I've met lots of people who started out and afterwards quit again because they found that it wasn't going quite as fast as
they would have liked to...(read:progression).
Keep up the good work and keep on being inspired by what you play Rosemary!!

Thanks very much for listening and for your words of encouragement. I'm working now on re-learning a couple of phrases that differ from the original and will hopefully have it ready to try out at our next Club meeting.

I'm really pleased you like the sound. A lot of that I think has to do with the heavier bass strings (10-52) which have improved both my Strats. I'll never go back to the lighter bass strings and am almost considering setting up with 11s but as I'm just starting to learn how to bend strings better might leave that for awhile.
