Up where we belong. Video

Postby Phil McGarrick » 10 Mar 2012, 16:49

Up where we belong was originally a vocal by Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes.
The shadows made an instrumental version for their XXV album and also released it on their "Diamonds Album"
The excellent Backing track is on the album "Strat Trax Vol 1" by Ernie Lamprell and available here -

The Tab's are available from Tony Clout here :-

I have tried to play it the way the tabs are written and have followed it about 90%

A live recording using 3 Video recorders simultaneously in HD 1080
I by-passed the amp all together and used a Samson wireless transmitter to send the signal from the volume pedal to the receiver plugged into the Alesis Q2 with EFTP patch 0-36 then into the computer sound card and recorded on Cubase.
The sound from cubase then synchronised with the videos and edited in Sony Vegas pro 9.

Hope you like "Up Where we belong". Cheers Phil

Ace.
That's the trouble when you have no strap......... the guitar keeps slipping down.
I learned my lesson in the 'Are you Lonesome Tonight video ' I did.
I spent more time pulling the guitar up than playing or posing.
Nice playing Phil.

Thanks Ecca and Fred. - Yes I guess I'm lazy sitting down all the time to play.
That stool has a bit of an angle to it, at least I didn't drop it completely. :D

Cheers for your comments... Phil

A wonderful rendition, Phil
Incidentally, the worst guitars to play sitting down are the Vox Phantom or Teardrop!

Hi Mikey, Yes I can imagine they are - curved edges and no cut out's for the legs ;)
Great to hear from you and thanks for your nice comment.
