The tune Cockles and Mussels in Bert Weedons Play in a Day tutor reminded me of the mainly bad old days
of secondary school music lessons in the early 1960s.
The teacher(nearly always middle aged and sometimes a bit loopy too) would be singing this melody or
similar at the top of his or her voice whilst walloping the piano keys like a person possessed by the devil!!
Meanwhile the rest of us unmusical "yoofs" would be singing like strangled parrots. God what a racket was
created!!
Probably if you had shown the teacher a picture of Berts guitar- whats that boy? electric? how many strings
does it have? To them aliens in a space ship could have dropped it from planet Zorg!!!
Yes I know sad but pretty true!! Gimme some jive teacha!!!
