Summer Love '59 Video

Postby Phil McGarrick » 30 Oct 2012, 23:18

Back to the Strat for this one.
A live video recording using the Alesis Q2 EFTP patch 0-37 and by-passing the amp.
I set cubase to appear on my television during the video recording.

I've always liked the Shadows version of this song which you can find the on "Compact Shadows"," Live at Abbey road" and "Life Story" Albums.

Hope you enjoy my version.
Cheers Phil

Greetings from deepest, wettest Somerset! Listening on my new toy, the Nexus 7 tablet with mifi thingyand it sounds pretty darned good to me.
Lovely finger work and the usual spot on tone too.
Was that the Roger Paulson BT?
Cheers

Thank you very much Roger and Ian for those nice comments.

Ian - I'll have to look out for mifi - I have the older version - wifi ;)
I thought a Nexus Tablet is something you take for indigestion :D

The BT is not Roger Paulsson's it's Bruce Welch, Brian Bennett,Alan jones etc ie the original recording with Hank EQ'd out the way. Cleverly done by Roger Allcock in Audition 3.

Many thanks Roger for that.

All the best... Phil

Great playing and great sound! It's longtime been a big favourite of mine and a gorgoeous number in my opinion. If i remember correctly, it was on, 'Hits right up you Street originally, released way back in 1981?
Didn't we play this one with 'Flint mate?.maybe on one or two occassions. Thank you for posting this beautful number!

Very best wishes' from Rich'.

Hi Lynn - thanks very much for your nice comment always good to hear from you.

Hi Richard - Yes you're right I used to play rhythm to this one in the B'flint days - It's a good one to play rhythm or lead on as it's got some nice chords. Unless of course you're a drummer. :D

Great to hear from you - looking forward to Danish Shadowmania next year.

All the best... Phil
