Received the new rollercoatser cd( let me tell you baby... it's called rock 'n' roll) yesterday and the sound is Great, the booklet is a good read with pics & facts about the recording sessions.

All round a good little package, well worth the money

...and, the angle of the guitar has caught the light and just appears to be that colour. In fact the piece of the guitar nearest to the strap has a hint of the true colour.

Here's an interesting picture from the accompanying booklet, which is supposedly from the Living Doll session in April 1959. I'm guessing that's Bruce with his back to us. I was curious about the guitar he's playing. It doesn't appear on this website dedicated to Bruce's guitars: http://www.brucewelchtribute.com/guitars/50s.html. However, in Mike Read's biography of The Shadows, there's a picture of Bruce playing what is probably the same guitar, which is apparently a Clifton. I can't find anything about it on the net - any ideas folks? Jim?

Great pictures that I've never seen previously... Hank's Autoria!! It seems Bruce played a variety of F-hole cello guitars during the 1958-59 period, and this one is not the Vega (with the white triangular pickguard) or, indeed, the guitar he's playing standing on the coffee table!

There are a lot of borrowed guitars either shown or hinted at above. It's a Gibson ES125 pictured on the CD cover. Never been sure what a " Clifton" was, but it's obviously not the Framus or Vega. Probably not a Hofner either.

Tony Harvey's presence at the "Living Doll" session is interesting, especially as he is credited as the owner of the "Japanese copy of a Gretsch White Falcon" used by Hank for that recording.

Yes, the distinctive tapered headstock could provide a clue. Certainly, if it's the guitar Bruce played on Living Doll, it doesn't sound at all bad!
