Hi Gerry
i bought one of these when they first came out 1999/2000
I think it was fitted with d'addario 10 / 46 guage but not 100% sure
any 10/46 guage would be a good choice to try .

Regards

Most guitars these days are factory-fitted with 10-46 (except the Ibanez widdly widdly guitars which normally come with 9's)
If you are after a more 'shadows' type tone you will be better off with at least 11's, but that will probably neccessitate the guitar being set up to cope with the extra tension. not a job to do unless you know how!!

My Marquee, which I bought in November 2000, was fitted with D'Addario 10-46's.

If I still had it I'd fit 12's for playing Shadows. And yes, you would need to adjust a few things to suit strings that thick! On my Strat I had to fit an extra trem spring (making a total of four), but strangely enough it didn't need any changes to the truss rod.
