Now That You're Gone

Postby geronimo7476 » 07 Nov 2009, 15:42

Hi All, here's a recording I did this morning off the 66 Shadow Music album. I used my Burns Marvin 40th anniversary, middle and neck pups.
The BT is off That Sound No.3
I hope you enjoy it

Hi Charles
Back in July 2008 my Dad passed away at the ripe old age of 88, I then learn't this tune and played it every night..........So you have just given me the chance to listen to you and think about him, a great tune very nicely played by yourself, nice gentle sound, I enjoyed it and thanks for posting it.......Cheers :D

Now then - there's a tune I've never heard before.
Super sound from your Burns. Cant compare to the original of course but this sounds exactly as it should.
Great phrasing and clean, smooth recording.
Cheers

Hi Charles
You've been busy today! I vaguely remember this from the 60's , but I'd forgotten just what a nice tune it was.Playing up to your usual high standard, and a lovely Burns tone.Green with envy!

Hi Charles,
Really nice tone on your Burns and well played - I think it was first recorded using one of those De-Armond pedals (which I don't have )
but even without it makes a great soundfile.
Cheers Phil

Beautifully played CC. One of my all-time faves, which Baz & I play often. Baz also uses a Burns and I think that's exactly the right sound for this number, just as you have done. Congrats on a great sound file.

It's a lovely tune... I suspect it was a vocal from one of the pantomimes, but works beautifully as one of the Shads "pretty little tunes" like Lady Penelope too...
