A Cynical Youth

Well I liked it anyway.
It was an autobiographical song when I wrote it in 1989.( Which I still have.)
This is an instrumental version of it..

Here's the original song, taken from a cassette, lovely hiss.

...........and here are the words.......

A Cynical Youth Copyright Eric Thacker 1989.

Oh boy, only just 10 years old,
and learning to smoke, the thought of it makes you cold.
He lived by a fairground where, played little girls and
who would have thought it’s been so long.
Fourteen, cold winter at TP School, his scene,
a paper kid breaking rules.
A working class boy ,whose joy, to play guitar and
who would have thought it’s been so long..
Seems like yesterday, years have flown by and bye.
If only that he knew all that he knows now,
innocence gone for all time.
To work, in April of sixty four, a cynical youth,
whose school days to be no more.
He there met his girl, a whirl of fond memories and
who would have thought it’s been so long.
Who would have thought it’s been so long

Hi Ecca me lad, its Slockpikaplonka here, sunbronzed after a stunning holiday in Newquay in The Love Shack
I liked that - even the Vocal one. :D Whos the "birds" in the chorus vocals at the end of it - Mrs Ecca mayhaps?
Enjoyed the re-arrangement for Instro. Quite different in style and it fits very well.
Nice job Ecca and obviously done with affection, despite the "cynical" in the title.
cheers

Thanks all, I was, and still am, a cynical bugger. ( that would have been a better title.)
It was my daughters, boyfriend, wife and me multitracked 3 or 4 times on the end.

Slockapa-rrrrrrrrringles ..... when you coming to the Shaddlers again ?

Not really played since I burned my hand. Took ages to heal but is OK now.
Must get my butt into gear and come and play soon.
