That is sad news. I never knew until reading that obit that the Allisons were not really brothers after all.

As a postscript, today's Telegraph obituary mentions a previous skiffle duo including 'John Allison' (Brian Alford and John White), c.1958-59, as the Shadows Brothers!! An appearance on (Bert Weedon's) Lucky Dip then led to the entry in the 1961 British Eurovision heats...
