Just wondered if anyone recorded direct rather than micing an amp, if so what are you using? Tried a quick recording with Kuassa Vermillion took about 30 seconds, not sure what to think really....not shads i know https://soundcloud.com/rob-kay/amp-simu ... st/s-EOz9z Rob
Hi Rob I have used a Korg Ampworks amp modeller for years. A tiny, battery powered gadget that has various Amps inc AC15 and AC30. Has some effects include reverb, a quite decent compressor etc. Not made any more, you'll have to look on eBay but it shouldn't be very expensive - £30 maybe. Cheers Ian PS - nice bit of chicken pickin' there!! Great sound too from your Tele!
Thanks Ian and Ecca, software would be great, i've found the Award Session JD10 to work quite well. Don't want to upset the neighbours using amps, i notice a lot of the Nashville pickers go for the AC30'ish amps. Open to any other suggestions... Thanks Rob
i use a vox ad30vt which has a line out which mutes the speaker for direct recording, I think it works really well, if not the korg ampworks is really good aswell but no speaker
Thanks all for your thoughts, gave the basic Amplitude a try but i think you need the extra amps to get the effect. So i think i'll keep an eye open for one of the little Korg Ampworks units, the Pods have always intrigued me too. Regards Rob Just put a wanted advert in Market Place just in case anyone has a Korg Ampworks for sale....Thanks.
