Really really good. That is all I wanted to do when I was sixteen in 1962. I used to watch the local groups from Coventry, Kenilworth and Leamington.
Problem was I lived in a small village between Coventry and Leamington and there was only one other guy who was interested in guitars - all of the other lads just wanted to play football.
Me and my friend bought new Vox guitars from Cranes Music shop in Coventry but unknown to us at the time they were really unplayable. This fizzled out and I didn't get back to it until my forties.
Yes I am really envious of you and your band.

Fred -my first electric in 1962 was a Vox Shadow that doubled up as a crossbow.

Ecca your Vox Shadow that doubled up as a crossbow reminds me of my Rosetti Airstream 3 which became known as the Robin Hood guitar !!

No trem on the Vox guitar, but it didn't matter - you just used the neck instead.

Cranes, Far Gosford Street, 1962, manager, Mr Poole. That was almost our second home! We may well have run into each other, there, around that time. Again, around that time, I bought my first Gibson (335) from them - took ages to arrive from the USA.

Even though I now live 135 miles away, I still go back to Far Gosford Street from time to time - my guitar tech, John, has a place called Noiseworks, just over the road from where Cranes used to be.

Happy Days.......
In the one photo , the 'little lads' one,we have jumpers on. These were knitted for us by various moms, aunties and sisters.
It seemed like a good idea at the time, they lasted 2 'bookings', we sweat to death in them and the sleeves caught in the strings.

Brings back memories of a lot of local groups at that time all over the country who entertained many people
with there playing and everyone enjoyed themselves watching and listening to them.
