I Only Have eyes For you...

An instrumental cover from Hank Marvin’s latest album “Hank” released in June 2014.
Written in 1934 and sung by many artists including “The Flamingos”. Art Garfunkel’s version was a number one hit on the UK Singles chart in October 1975 for two weeks.

Phil Mcgarrick (utube - random275) invited me to do the solo on this number after looking for a decent BT track. He eventaully found a piano based backing track written by Simon Ireson which needed acoustic rhythm adding so this was the ideal song to for him to play the Rhythm backing (It has some great chords! ) and also needed female backing vocals which his daughter-in-law Lisa kindly agreed to sing.

So we all hope you enjoy our little trio of “I only have eyes for you”

I used a Fender Fullerton 62 Stratocaster. Middle pickup and a Vox Long Tom Echo unit.
Phil used a 1990’s Gibson Dove fitted with a LR Baggs IBeam active under saddle transducer (Pickup)
Recorded directly into Cubase mixed and mastered by son Andrew McGarrick
Video’d with 3xSony SR12 Camcorders and a smartphone.
Edited in Sony Vegas pro 9

I'm running out of Superlatives now when it comes to commenting on these posts.
Knockout, Magnificent, Superb, Stunning etc etc have all been said and I completely agree once again and now professional videos to go with the totally professional recordings. Wow!
I've watched it twice so far - once to watch your economy of movement fingering - just right - and then to watch Phil playing the chording. I do love arrangements where they change some of the expected chords for some more unusual ones and this one, of course, doesn't disappoint.
And it is SO good to see Lisa back singing, even if only as a vocal backing on this one. She has a lovely smiley face to go with that silky voice.
All in all - Perfection.
