Good stuff ... that is the beauty of the tape echo sound full and fat and rich. I hear The Sound.

Thank you Roger for checking it out and commenting.
I like the sound of the old valve echoes and I am pleased that I have been able to demonstrate the effect of the Long Tom for the Shads fans to compare against other main echo units used on their soundfiles. We all have our own idea of sounds that we like, and it is interesting to hear all the differing units used to excellent effect on this forum.
Thanks again.

Cheers, John

Hi John,
bit late i know but just catching up and listening to soundfiles, love the sound of your longtom, big ambience with great warm vintage tone and played with a great touch, your strat sounds really authentic, really enjoyable,
best Phil.

Hi Phil, lovely to hear from you again after such a long time - keep in touch.

Thanks for the great comments about the Long Tom and the playing which are very much appreciated. I don't use the Vox echo much these days, but when I do it sparks up the old days of incredible sounds that are becoming scarce. I've used it on a previous video in November - Peace Pipe - and it has that same timbre for the number. A more recent video of 'I only Have Eyes for You' using the Long Tom proved very worthwhile also, for a more modern sounding number.
Hope you're feeling well, still gigging and enjoying yourself, as I know your technical skill and ability covers a very wide range of playing. You've been missed on the Shads scene!
Your recent find of a very rare Vox drum echo has been a talking point for many of us Shads fans... any chance of a demo sometime??

Best regards, John

Hi John,
you are very welcome ref my comments , i mean everything i say.
I am feeling much better now thankyou and have been playing and steadily improving for a while now and i to have missed playing on the shads scene, after much prompting mainly from my youngest son James we are putting a shads style band together this year , the echomatic 1 find was incredible, been looking for 30 years ! its a beauty and still pinch myself as cant really believe after all these years i found one, or should i say it kind of found me, albeit it is at a time i am redundant as far as playing Shads goes, although all thats going to change soon hopefully, it still needs a little more time spent on it and once its all good it will be heard in the new band venture, its certainly something that needs to be heard by shads fans, i feel i,ve been away from it to long so feeling positive about it all.
Hope you are ok John, keep up your great playing, you have a lovely touch on the strat, i also enjoyed your joint ventures with Phil Mc G, great stuff.
best regards,
Phil.
