It's true Fred, for years I was convinced that the guitar sound had more treble, only by running my version along side the original and switching from one to the other did I begin to understand what was needed to get a better match.
I know it isn't perfect, but considering my strings are 10/46 on that take, instead of 13/56, I think it's a good likeness and who knows, if I were to try the heavy strings again it could get even closer.
The point of the exercise was to let people hear what was possible with run of the mill kit.
