This Zoom unit does the job, a question? is it better, worse or equal to the G3X? :D

It's better, there's more choice of echo boxes and deeper editing, but no volume pedal. I use it next to my G3x for the echoes and use the G3x for the pedal, distortion and compression and I'm convinced there's no need to spend any more. ;)

I'm exploring the G3 further to see if I can get similar tone to the MS-70CDR & MS-100BT. Sadly for my needs the G3x isn't fast enough to get from one patch to another when working live, although great in a relaxed situation such as at home, studio or Shadows club meet.
I'm also looking forward to a mod from Piet that can be done to the eTap2hw that will bring similar results. :)

Hi Dave

love what you have achieved with a wide range of equipment, all sounds spot on to my ears.

could you tell me if there is much added compression or something especially on tracks like apache or is it mainly down to your fingers as I just can't get that tone, but the delays are fine (thanks to your good self)?

used both G3 and Stanley etap pedal either through active monitors or an AC30 2hl (not really suitable in the conservatory) and even the joyo.

I suspect it's down to my ability or ears even though the ms-100bt is tempting as an extra gift to myself.

thanks for any insight.

It's all in the tone Stan rather than compression, you have the right Echo boxes with what you describe. if you live close by I would be happy to come and show you how to get the tone. I suspect you may be 'over cooking' the tone controls, as if you have a Vox AC-30 and the Joyo AC Tone it should be there.
The key is taking away the bass and removing high treble, leaving the MIDS & UPPER MIDS to shape the tone. Also try backing off the guitar volume from full on, to about 8 or 9 instead of 10 - that works on some Strats.

Just added a re-recording of - ATLANTIS here > https://soundcloud.com/robbo47/atlantis-ms100-3-1
Decided to use AC-30 and old '63 Strat on this one. :)

Just to be clear that last recording just had the guitar and amp changed, the echo is still the zoom MS-100BT. :)

Well Dave all I can say, incredible! That combination is the best. Amazing sustain without any additional processing. Hopefully later today I'll have another crack at getting this patch right.

I must say thanks for taking the time and trouble in doing these demos, it is much appreciated.
