Hi Dave,

Thanks for this demo. Absolutely Brilliant in my view! I really love the tone of this guitar. It is obviously a very capable and versatile instrument. I want one! I'll really have to start saving the pennies now! I am now finding the stretch on a 25.5'' scale uncomfortable, and I think the 24'' scale will be a great help.

Thanks Ian, what I an tell you is that when used as a Strat it does behave like one and does the clean Kon Tiki sound very easily on the treble pickup and the Frightened City sound on the middle pick up etc. what it does beyond that is sustain when required and with the pickup switching allows you to do stuff that a Strat can't do quite so well. It leans more towards the versatility of the G&L S-500 but with other options. I can't put it down as I keep finding tones that I never had before.
That Vox VT-80+ is a great little amp too, it is loud but can be turned down to bedroom level without loss of quality and does everything I need and weighs very little compared to an AC-30. :)

Well, that was a surprise! Great sound. Is this the same Red Special that retails for under six hundred quid?

It's listed at £625 on Brian May's site, possibly cheaper deals elsewhere. I got mine for £449 and it's worth every penny. :)

What switching/pup-selection did you use for Atlantis, Dave?

I used the neck pickup for the plinky bits, the treble pickup for the two low verses and ending and the middle pickup for the last verse. I used two tracks the same as Hank did, in order to make the switching smooth. ;)

Thanks, Dave. Did you use the phasing switches at all? If not, that's a really good sound for instrumentals using just the 'normal' settings.

I have tried the phasing switches as I already said and they do offer some good and interesting sounds, especially with some fuzz & modulation added, but not for the Shadows style stuff. I just use it as I would a Strat, occasionally using 1 & 2 or 2 & 3 for Knopfler tones. The interesting ones are with all pickups in and then knocking one of them out of phase, each sounds different depending on which one you change. It's all good fun. :)
