REMEMBER '64

Not sure if I have previously put this one up. Relates back to a year (and we all have them I would guess) when everything was happening - 1964.

Just left high school, just started a new apprenticeship, just getting into playing in bands, the surf era was all happening out here in Australia and the U.S., money in my jeans etc. Very nostalgic, who'd ever think I'd write an instrumental about it decades later. 'Let the good times roll - again !!'

No problem Bob I gave it a listen and it certainly was worth it you have the sound and the tempo
right for this. 1964 hey I was 16 great times loads of fun and mates life was certainly for living
back in the '60's and the music well every day something new something different.GOOD on you
for putting this together and posting.

Wow there's a lot going on there. Very polished and easy on the ear. Personally I think the basic drum track is just right and doesn't need those rolls. Otherwise, a confection of delight!

A good mover but not as musically appealing as Apaharo, for me it's about melody and this one doesn't grab me the same as your first one, but that's what music is about as if they were all the same it would be boring, well done.

Hi Iain, and thanks for your thoughts. I appreciate the comments. As for drum rolls well as I mentioned to Ian Plant recently I tend to call this
style "Shurf" music i.e. Half Surf/Half Shadows style. The beginning of this number I started with The Atlantics in mind (Bombora fame etc.) and I guess
ya gotta have an over the top surfie drummer in there 'rollin' around somewhat. it was done by the way (with the need for some twang) on my Squier 50's Classic Vibe Telecaster. I'm glad you liked it Iain, Thank you, Beebs
