Yep that makes a lot of sense Iain. I've since removed them, a little too cutting for me. Kim Humphreys in Sydney who has his own signature model guitar (Wilkinson Guitar?? I think) swears by them on the basis he can play both Shads stuff and other styles with them such as Jeff Beck etc.

What ever happened to putting up something different for the ears?
This is a blues version of the song we all know was done very well by the Shadows. And we've heard it eight million times, no question it was excellent.
For me this is submitted to the viewers thinking it might be more 'interesting' rather than the same old same old. I think I try to do that with all my submissions. My personal opinion is that this is, for me, the one song Hank got pipped at the post by, albeit Hank's versions were terrific on their own. Larry's recorded version of this is much better than his live versions though, something got lost intransit. Rgds Beebs

Whilst i understand your frustration, and personal desire to do something "better", the purpose of this site is Shadows' music, not Larry Carlton music, not Ventures' music, not Duane Eddy music, not Brian Setzer music. If folks want to know how to get "that sound", we're here to help them, and if they want to post files to ask "how am I getting on?" then that's fine by me... But one of the reasons I haven't posted some of the recordings I have of Legend - including some interesting demo treatments of non-Shadows tunes, is, simply, that it's not what the site is about...

If that's what you want, we should ask Tony Hoffman to start a Tone Riders Forum for guitar instro music, and I'd find that really interesting...

My error David,

I didn't realize it was strictly Shadows as there is/are original songs on here. Assumed it was similar to others where the common thread was
an interest in guitar instrumentals. So sadly, I would obviously be of no interest to anyone on your site and shall withdraw from it herewith.
Many thanks,

People usually make a final comment like this in order to seek comments from other members pleading with them to stay...

No, no. I know what you mean. I genuinely will not be of any interest as I only write originals, or do cover versions of other guitarists instrus and vocals.
I've never presented anything relative to standard Shads songs on any sites, can't imagine ever presenting a stock Geronimo etc and asking for comments .
I really did not realize over all these the years it was restricted to just Shadows till you mentioned it now. Bob
