Lift off with Ayshea!!!

Postby drakula63 » 18 Jun 2015, 16:37

As you may have guessed from some previous posts... I was at the Gerry Anderson convention, Andercon, in Leicester last weekend. Needless to say, it was FAB !!!

I had the great pleasure of meeting (and interviewing) the lovely Ayshea Brough and two of her UFO co-stars, Georgina Moon and Jeremy Wilkin. Those of you who used to watch UFO will know exactly what I'm talking about when I say that Ayshea spent most of her time underneath a film studio and Georgina and Jeremy spent most of their time beneath the waves! It was great to meet them all and chat to them on stage about one of my all-time fave TV shows. I mentioned the Shadows to Ayshea (with reference to the puppets in the lobby) and her reply was "Oh I love the Shadows, they were a great group. I know Brian Bennett. If you see him say 'Hi' from me." So Brian, if you are reading this, Ayshea says 'hi' !!!

:D

Wasn't Ayshea connected with Stevie Wonder at some point years ago?

All I know about Ayshea is that she was once married to Peter Brough`s son and had her own TV show called Pop Goes Ayshea

Ayshea released an album or two in the 1970s and her producer was the legendary Roy Wood. There is a great painting of them together on the front cover of an old edition of Look-in from about 1972.

She played the SHADO HQ operative (later named Lt. Johnson) in UFO.

And there is also a Shadows connection. Brian Bennett co-produced her last single for DJM.

Thanks Ulrich! Ahh, that explains how she knew/knows Brian!

(Plenty more pics, by the way, at the Andercon 2015 Facebook page.)
