(I CAN) SING A RAINBOW

Postby Stratpicker » 22 Aug 2015, 17:40

A complete change from my last one!
This started off as a backing track for our daughter so she could sing the song to our 4 year old grand-daughter. Then, as I worked out the chords, I thought it would make quite a nice Instrumental.
AND - I had thought of this as being a children's song until I found out that it was actually from a 1955 film - “Pete Kelly's Blues” - where it was sung by none other than Peggy Lee. And Cilla recorded this for her 1966 album “Cilla Sings A Rainbow”.
Written by Arthur Hamilton, who's other BIG song for the film, “Cry Me A River” was thrown out as being no good!! How wrong they were. Lol!
Backing is 100% Band In A Box – anyone want the BT or sgu – just shout. Note – there is also a SHORT version BT (verse-chorus-verse) for anyone one who wants to sing it to their kids, or grandkids. (its in key A but BIAB being what it is, I can make the BT any key you like).
Enjoy – or not, as the case may be.
Ian

Hi Bri, Hi Tony
Good to hear from you.
Thank you for your kind words. It certainly is a pretty little tune. I found working a harmony out more difficult than the tune itself. Glad you enjoyed it.
Cheers
Ian
