Virgin Media E Mail

Postby anniv 63 » 28 Sep 2015, 20:35

Is anyone else totally brassed off with this service in their area?
Just had notification that access login is going to be off for at least 24 hrs!!!
Over last few weeks there has been frequent access problems on their revamped system layout.
Simply not good enough Mr B if this continues!!!!

My bone of contention is that Mr B emails me to say my broadband speed is being increased. Hurrah! Then I get a letter from said Mr B to say my charges are going up! I feel a change coming on......

I've had problems accessing my emails since the Virgin Media E Mail revamp as well. It now takes ages for the mailbox to open.
I honestly don't think that Mr B could care less - he's happy making shed loads of money from letting the parent company (Liberty Global) use the Virgin brand name to give their product a better image than it had under the old NTL name :?
My monthly charges have gone up as well whilst new customers are being given half price offers :x No different from all the other service providers I suppose :(

Hi guys,

Yes I still can't log in to my email account and didn't get any notification about it being off. I hope they revert to old email page layout, I really don't like the new layout.

I think Mr B is only interest in getting new customers, there seems so many special offers available for new customers but sweet FA for those who have been with Virgin for years, all we get is increased costs to cover his special offers.
How they have the cheek to call it Virgin I don't know, it's any but.

Rant over.

Yeah , totally hopeless. Its down once again this morning till midday with 2 issues of connection problem!!!!
Fortunately I don't and would not run a business on it with this shambles at present.
Also the new system may be spamming out some ligit mails you might normally expect i.e. company promotion
updates that you are registered for etc.
The spam box shows empty al the time!!!

Grrrrrr

You'd be better off to switching to a non-ISP-specific email provider (e.g. Google, Outlook etc.), because if you ever change your internet provider you're going to be stuck having to change your email address with everyone you know.

I've used Gmail for years and never once suffered from a problem of it being unavailable.

Cheers

Hi Guys

I just wondered if anybody else is still experiencing real problems with Virgin Media E Mail? Mine seems to be getting harder to access each week! (Regularly times out)
I thought that they would have overcome their initial problems by now but apparently not.
Looks like I'm going to have to let all my email contacts know my new "Outlook" email address

All the best

The Virgin Media cable supplies my internet. Occasionally there are distribution problems in the district and I have to go through the wearisome business of getting them to acknowledge that it is their system at fault and not my modem/router/computer.

My gripe is that since I don't download movies and the like, I don't need faster and faster speed. I'd rather have lower speed and keep the price down.

Back in 1995, I started using Compuserve for my email (remember them? - they are still going). 20 years later I'm still with them, which has made it a lot easier for people to keep in touch with me.

I agree with you Ray that a further "supercharge" is unnecessary in most cases.
Recently advised that the 50MB will be increased to 70MB early next year.
50 MB on an efficient PC is more than adequate for all task applications that I require
and in fast download time.
I too suddenly feel the draught of another package price increase, unjustified also for the recent
unnecessary revamp of the Virgin E mail that now has a much slower log in access and has constant
technical issues that flag up since the changes were implemented.
