Slightly off topic.

A band called MUSE recorded a version of Man of Mystery and it can be seen and heard here: (Although not great quality.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-RAOHFFQuo

I wasnt aware of it until my rock chick daughter made me listen to her I-pod the other night... she thought it wasnt half bad.

Theres also a free mp3 download available here:-

And indeed Matt Bellamy, Muse's guitarist, is the son of George Bellamy, The Tornados' rhythm guitarist.

David Martin wrote:I remember hearing this exactly as Jim suggests... at a cinema as the intro to the B film...

But my recollection is that, although it sounded like The Shadows (i.e. Stratty and full of echo) it was played at 25% of the speed of The Shads track...

I must agree with David,my recollection is also that the speed was much slower than the Shads track. I also remember seeing the film at cinemas.(it was long enough ago for me to remember!)

I hope this will work. I have attached a mp3 file of the intro of the Edgar Wallace Mysteries.

It seems to have worked. I found it some time ago on youtube and have extracted to soundtrack. The intro gives no information at all regarding composer or performer.

Good luck with identifying the musicians.
