So now we know what Howard Wolowitz does on his days off!

Here's another view of the car:

The VoxMobile was known about - even in the UK - in the late sixties at the earliest.

It was, of course, a USA promotional device which was tied to the Thomas Organs Vox division on the northern outskirts of Los Angeles (at Sepulveda).

I seem to remember that Del Casher (of Vox Wah Wah Pedal) fame had something to do with it when it was first conceived and built.

The legendary guitarist Jimmy Bryant also was involved in the promotional stuff for Vox at the time- I think there were photos of him in the car etc

There's a lot of info online about the car...there were a number of such promo vehicles tied in to products, brands,TV and films etc back then in the USA (the Monkeemobile, The Munsters coach etc etc..)

The whole concept of a novelty vehicle for promo/advertising purposes is very old anyway..anyone remember the beer barrel car from way back when??

And don't forget the Outspan Orange car featured in Every Home Should Have One (although I'm sure most of us remember that film more for Penelope Keith's appearance as a dominatrix, complete with leather costume and whip).

I believe it's now at Sparkford Motor Museum.

(The car, not the whip.)

I can remember as a kid in London in the 1950's seeing the Daimler beer bottle car driving around...
